Patchouli and Lettuce Soap

Yesterday I made Patchouli and Lettuce Soap. Not together of course! That would be pretty gross....I would think. The price of Patchouli an ounce at the moment sure would make me hesitate to try it out, that is for sure.

I made a fresh batch of Patchouli Soap and a new batch of Lettuce. I haven't had lettuce in a few months, but I decided to bring some more back. It is nice and light to finish off the summer.

Maybe I will post some pics while slicing it up tomorrow. Sorry I had to post with no pics, but I did tell myself I should try to express myself at least every other day.

It is good to let off a tad bit of sarcasm at least every few days.

Do some soaps taste good? Fun cartoon!

Sometimes soap  makers are often told their soaps look edible. Even though we all know not to eat soap (well most of us anyways - we will save that for another day).

Here is a good chuckle brought to you by CraftyCartoons. Check out his contests over on his blog - The Crafty Cartoon.

Etsy Saturday Night Special aka SNS

Tonight is Saturday. My husband is at work, as he is on most Saturdays. So, what is one to do?

Of course after a day hanging and playing with the kids, I post my Etsy SNS. What is SNS you ask? It is short for Saturday Night Special. Sellers get together and post their sale for the evening, all in one post. You can read about it in the forum post SNS FAQ.

It is great because you not only get some great deals you also can mingle with some fabulous folks on Etsy.

After my own website at pixiesoap.com, my Etsy store is my next favorite place to sell! The folks cannot be beat!

South Shore Living Magazine

OK, since my lovely old blog disappeared I figured I would re post my bragging of my first unpaid spotlight in a magazine.

Yes, my Chocolate Covered Strawberry Soap was featured in the March issue of South Shore Living Magazine. March's topic for their trends page was Eco-friendly products.

The batch featured in the magazine was made with two layers. My current Chocolate Covered Strawberry Soap is made with strawberry circles swimming in chocolate. I think I like the circles better, but it is certainly a bit more work.

So, which one do you like best?

Chocolate Banana Handmade Soap

Chocolate_banana_3 My newest soap to hit the store store today - is Chocolate Banana.

Doesn't it look yummy? Well it is, for your nose anyway, just not your mouth.

This batch is actually a blend of two separate batches. Not one of those combined fragrance oils.

The first batch was scented banana. After being in the mold for full saponification, it was removed and sliced into long narrow pieces.

The second batch was made with a lovely chocolate fragrance and colored with cocoa powder. The long slices of banana soap were randomly added when poured into the mold.

Overall, I enjoy the blend and the look it pretty cool. I just cannot have fruits without some kind of chocolate, I confess.

I am sticking to soapmaking!!

OK, wondering what happened to my other little blog?

Yeah, me to. LOL

Of course I was messing around because I kept having issues with wordpress on my direct website, I hit some button and poof, it was all gone. I am left with nothing but HTML error pages.

So here I am starting a new blog. I decided I wouldn't bother trying to have it directly on pixiesoap.com again because I would probably only mess it up again. :)

I will just stick to making handmade soap, it is what I do best.
